SCALLOPed potatoes- Garrott Look #10

OK, I know, it’s a weird title, bear with me, and welcome to the wacky world of Wild as a Mink but Sweet as Soda Pop style. Where things start off with a quirk but it all ends with a wicked cool twist.

Nickki, Miss layering genius mastermind, was on hiatus last week but she’s back with a timely, seasonal style to rock this “Spwinter” weather we’re having in New York. It’s cold, it’s hot, it’s wet, its gloomy, woah, there is the sun, oh no, it’s gone. This crappy stuff calls for Layers! Why not throw everything into the mix and re-design stuff while your at it, mother nature sure is.

Spring/Fall mix and match

If you’ve been paying any attention to the Spring 2011 trends you’ll have discovered a very sweet return of the scalloped edge on pretty little frocks, car coats, lady-like shoes and even sexy-sweet lingerie. This super cute blouse Nickki picked up at Target is a fabulous mid-market find.

(how does she do it? I really don’t know, when I go to Target I’m lucky to find socks I like)

It’s silk, light weight and springy feel may entice the nice weather to appear, but just in case, this sweater knit skirt keeps just the right amount of warm. Dare to bare those legs? or throw on some neutral sheers if you’re just not that ready. Don’t worry you’ve go time to bronze it’s only April.

Rain or shine she's got the look

Enter the Garrott “Without My Muse” tee, but wait, Nickki did a little improv work on this one. Rolling up the sleeves and lower half, she’s turned it into a cool little tank vest. CLEVER! So you see, a tee shirt doesn’t have to stay that way. It also doesn’t have to work alone, this combo is two parts sweet and one part cool.

Accessories finish a look, so pile them on as long as the wind still blows. (and it really blows) This multi-color fringe scarf paired with a sweet pearl and chain necklace echo the same spring/fall feel of the silk and sweater knit fabrics.

Just in case you thought socks and heels weren’t cool, another Spring 2011 runway trend I have been SO into since 2009. Get yourself to St. Mark’s Sock Man and make it happen!

But before you hop a train click here to get your wicked cool Garrott “With Out My Muse” tee only $20 with free shipping in the U.S..  Out of the U.S.? get your tee here.

So, while this weather continues to be a toss up, you can toss together just about everything in your closet with a Garrott tee. “You say potato, I say pototo”, send us pics of your mix-ups and we’ll post them on our blogs. BTW, you can read how Nickki says it HERE!
