Things to do in Kansas City when you’re LIVE

I will be exhibiting at Spectrum Live 2 in Kansas City MO May 17-19th. The event grew out of the renowned annual SPECTRUM: THE BEST IN CONTEMPORARY FANTASTIC ART.  Now in its 20th year, showcases the best in Science Fiction and Fantasy art. I cannot tell you how much these annuals influenced my work and development in art school at SCAD. My first volume, “Spectrum 7”, blew my mind as I stumbled upon it in the late hours of a Barnes and Nobel run, and ever since I have been an addict. This is why I am so thrilled to be a part of the exhibition for the second year. SPECTRUM FANTASTIC ART LIVE 2 is a celebration of art, where fans and artists can enjoy exhibits of original drawings, paintings and sculpture, share tips and trick and talk shop.

The Exhibition is open to the public and 3-day passes are only $40. It’s $20 for a single day pass. The 3-day ticket gets you into the show on the Friday Preview Night and Opening Night Party, plus a guaranteed seat at the Spectrum Awards Ceremony at the Midland Theatre on Saturday, May 18th.

Last year I had an absolute blast, reconnecting with some of my favorite mentors and meeting artists such as George Pratt, Jon Foster, Gregory Manchess, Felipe Echevarria, Laurie Lee Brom and Mark Schultz. I came away with a new list of  inspiring people, prints and books of great art and that warm fuzzy feeling you get when all is well in the world.
