Gallery Girl-How to Rock a Garrott Tee
Like art, fashion is meant to drive our culture forward. As an independent designer and artist I move to communicate through graphics and silhouette. Which is what inspired the “Without My Muse” Garrott tee as a compliment to the clothing line Garrott. The line focuses on constructed and draped silhouettes for a sophisticated lady on the cutting edge. While the new Garrott Tee offers a versatile edgy graphic for everyday street style. In all cases, the Garrott girl always looks effortlessly glamorous.
This week’s “How to rock a Garrott Tee” is no exception. As we, once again, combine art and fashion to bring you the “Gallery Girl” look.
A good eye will tell you it’s all about, tension, contrast and balance. In fashion the rules remain the same but we call it “high-low” or the pairing of inexpensive with high end. The Mint by Jodi Arnold boyfriend blazer and silk city shorts, are the high end to this combo. Made of gorgeous, supple, raw and washed silk these items are worth the splurge.
(In fact, I splurge on Jodi Arnold regularly, check out her line and her philosophy, she is one lady on the cutting edge of art and fashion).
Pattern lace stockings are a great evening look but you can also pop a color bomb or go bare. Some fab shoes are always in order and I love the “boy meets girl” look of these grey/black suede wedges with a little bow. Both the tights and the shoes are low end purchases from Marshall’s. I love a good deal!
Speaking of a good deal, the artsy staple to this look is the Garrott “Without My Muse” tee. Only $20 with free shipping in the U.S, get it here. If you’re not in the U.S. it’s still a good deal but “ship happens” order yours here.
As with art and fashion, style is all about interpenetration. We want to see what you got, so get yourself a “Without My Muse” tee and send pics of your artistic style. We’ll post it here with a little “artist bio” about you, so get you Garrott on!
