Such a busy and frantic time of year! Why shouldn’t one of my awesome, freaky, creativefriends pop out of the wood work to drag me from my endless list of things to do to see the opening of Kris Kuksi’s “Revival” exhibition at Joshua Liner Gallery. A perfect visual delight for the ordered chaos of modernity and maybe even mirrors my chaotic life in art and fashion. I completely enjoyed the reception, from the assemblage work, to running in to long lost art pals and meeting a sword swallower with a wonderful hair stylist. I even got to meet Mr. Kuksi, which was so very cool.
The show is on through January 18, 2014 check it if you can.
He even signed my post card.
This one is my absolute favorite. The draped shroud over her face and the men climbing it, remind me of the Statue of Liberty, Mt. Rushmore and a sculpture I saw at the Prado in Spain. Funny, even in my head, Kris forms a chaos collage of memories and symbols.
