A Look in My Book: Natural Selection

Motifs from nature permeate fashion trends season after season. Here are a few collected specimens across recent seasons. You may recall the last time I did a few of theses in my “Sea and Air” post featuring feathers from Prada.

 

 

I will never get tired of insects in prints or as jewelry or even home decor, I have a large collection on a wall in my studio. They are gorgeous and worthy of repeat season exposure.

 

 

Alexander McQueen will never leave my radius of inspiration. These woodland motifs, past and current, are timeless. In fact, I may just go to London and experience “Savage Beauty” again.

 

 

Who could ever exhaust by the wonders of the sea? Rodarte’s current collection evokes a sense of frothy mermaids washed up on the sea at dusk.
